One gal milk and OJ bottles, empty bleach and laundry detergent jugs too. Rinse these out and fill with tap water Instant reserve water supply, If the well or main goes out you'll need water for more than cooking and drinking. The chlorine in city water will keep these fresh for weeks, once it gets stale rinse and refill, water plants with it don't just waste it. Cheap too.

Not a bad idea. Might also stock up on a few water pellets as well. And possibly invest in a water purifier.
