We have some cougars here. Fish & Game won’t admit it but they’re here.
Had one chase a deer through the front yard. No, I didn’t see it happen. Saw tracks in the driveway—it’s dirt. Deer tracks dug in 4 inches deep and BIG paw prints, with no claw marks so it wasn’t a big dog.
And wild hogs, lots of wild hogs—well, I suppose they’re called feral hogs. I suppose a hog can’t be called exotic, though.
So far I’ve seen no coyotes or wolves although I have read reports that other areas have them.

I believe you Clay...Hunted in Trinity, TX around an old rock quarry....not all that far from you......saw some pretty large cat tracks there too....followed by a couple of sets of "kitten" tracks.
I was watching my 6 all weekend. Momma's tracks were dang near as big as my palm.

Nice Pup. I have always wanted a Wolf Malmute. They are high Maintenance , I know. And would be willing to spend the time, but where I am at, it would not be fair. Too hot, too humid, and a OK sized backyard. Really wish I could though.........someday.

Well, when I was an LEO, I did kill a 12-13 ft red tail boa that was in a neighborhood. But that story may need a little proding for me to tell.....Go ahead, twist my arm.

Alan, Sounds like a good tail. Scale up your post and get us wrapped up in interest before it slips through the crack.

Well.....When I was an LEO, at this time, I worked in the late evening. I was hanging out with another (unidentified) Deputy in a developing subdivision. We left there around 11 PM-11:15 PM to go have a midnight breakfast with 3 other deputies.
On the way out of the subdivision, I saw something in the road and stopped...quick.
I stopped for a 12-13' red tailed Boa in the road!!!
I ended up taking it's head after trying to catch it a couple of times (something I would NEVER try without backup at that snakes size)......I then bagged the snake and put it in the trunk and we went to meet our friends.
One of the three deputies we were meeting that night, had loaned me his car a few weeks before while mine was in for service.......I still had a key.
My friend kept a lookout while I coiled the snake in the floorboard, and we went in to eat.
The deputy/mark went to the restroom and we let the other deputies in on the prank.
When we left that night and watched him get in......get situated.....realize something does not feel right.........light up his floorboard with his Streamlight......And......HOLY CRAP!!!!
He comes flying out of the car and skinning leather (drawing his gun) It was all we could do to keep him from unloading.
Thank God we did.
UUUUmmmm....well Capt......the reason there is .40 cal rounds in th floorboard is......

Yeah she doesn't listen sometimes but it is kinda hard to train her she kinda knows how to sit but not really. The reason why she is hard to train her is that she cowers if you tell her to sit. Even if you have a treat she does. She is kinda a bird dog but she doesn't really go after the bird.
But on the other hand I don't really hunt unless my parents don't know because they don't like me killing Squirrel or Rabbits not that there is many Rabbits around my house. But whatever I'll kill the occasional squirrel and Birds when i can get a shot on them I'll eat them it's a sin in my family to kill something and waste the meat. No it's not a sin but I don't like doing that. WOW I am babbling a lot tonight sorry guys.
Hey Allan I changed my name so sorry if you are confused I'm just telling everyone now and if you don't mind me asking what happened with you and your wife. this message is to long sorry guys!

Brennon I dont mind you asking. That subject however would better be asked in a PM. I really don't wish to put details on the web. But in short....She is moving out tonight with my son.
Back on topic....How old is your dog Brennon? Were you the first owners? If not, about how old was she when you got her?
The cowering issue has me a bit concerned. That is a sign of uncertainty. I have always shown my dogs that I am Alpha Male. That HAS to be gained without "Whipping" them.
I have done this with friends dogs that mind me better than them, and I don't see these dogs for 6-9 months at a time.

Man that sucks sorry to hear that. Well just make the best of it as you can .
We got our dog when she was a baby and nobody whips her. But out of all the famly she trusts my dad and my brother more than me and my mom, That being said we don't beat her or anything of that sort that is wrong. I think it is that it is because she is just timid by nature itself.

That could be. But usually timidness is born of fear. I'm not saying from you or the family. My soon to be ex-brother in law has a very miscevious dog. Tore up everything. He never spent any time with him. Very bad move. Dogs are going to vie for attention weather it is good or bad attention. Once he started spending time with him, thing changed for the better.
